Visible signs of aging and mature looking skin are the worst nightmare for some people. They make it their life’s mission to keep[…] their skin looking young and healthy, and you know what, more power to them. We cannot stop the clock from ticking but we can take a measure that delays signs of aging. The key to keeping your skin looking young for a longer time lies in your skincare routine. Make sure that the following steps are a part of your skincare routine.
Use a gentle cleanser
Regardless of your skin type, daily cleansing is important. Cleansers remove all the makeup, dirt, bacteria and other pollutants from your skin. A gentle cleanser preserves the skin’s natural barrier and keeps it resistant to dehydration and damage. Try using a cleanser with a balanced or low pH.
Exfoliate twice a week
To preventing signs of aging, exfoliate regularly. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells from your face and deeply cleanses your pores. Excess exfoliation may also cause damage to your skin. Most skin types can tolerate exfoliation once or twice a week. Pay attention to your skin to determine what works best for you.
Apply a serum
Once your skin is cleansed, it is now ready for a serum. Serums are lightweight moisturizers that cater to specific skin needs. Using a serum does not mean that you can skip moisturizing.
Moisturise
Perhaps the most important step to keeping your skin looking young and radiant is moisturizing. The skin on your face, ears, neck, and chest is very sensitive and these are the first parts of your body that show signs aging. Moisturizing is important to repair these areas so that younger skin cells rise to the surface. Also, the massaging effect that is used to put on a moisturizer helps stimulate blood circulation and generate new cells.
Use an eye cream
Eye creams are specific moisturizers that are targeted for the area around your eyes. They help fight wrinkles and delay their appearance. Apply a small amount around your entire eye area using your fingertips and pat gently until the product is thoroughly absorbed. Eye creams can be used morning and night.
Never forget sunscreen
Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays, which come in two forms- UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays cause premature aging by triggering the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. This is why it is important to use sunscreen, regardless of if it is sunny outside or not. Most dermatologists recommend SPF 30 or above.
Remove makeup gently
It is important to remove all your makeup at the end of the day. It is also important to be gentle about it. Tugging at your skin and rubbing it can cause the skin to lose it elasticity which in turn can lead to premature aging. Try using cleansing water to remove all your makeup before washing your face using a proper cleanser.
Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of water is great for your skin. Water is considered as a wonderful moisturizer that works from within. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and helps the skin look younger and more radiant. Staying hydrated also promotes skin circulation and repair. Try drinking around 2-3 liters of water every day for amazing results. Throughout all of this, our greatest advice is to start early and stick to this routine to fight signs of aging.
